We recently refreshed our product line up, bringing to market our latest-generation NW Etive radio and a new portable server NW Nessie, to make our turnkey solution even easier to deploy. We are also launching three new affordable product tiers. The main building blocks of our P5G systems are high-performance custom-built servers, cutting-edge AMD RFSoC-based Software Defined Radio, and accessories including antennas, tactical fibre reels and transport cases where required. The servers run real-time gNB software stacks, currently aligned with 3GPP Rel18, and are managed using our innovative nibOS software.

NW Etive Radio
Our latest generation “NW Etive” is a high-performance 4TRx software-defined radio head, optimised for simplicity of deployment. The NW Etive hardcase can be directly pole-mounted along with your choice of antenna to minimise RF cabling losses. Powered by AMD RFSoC technology, the NW Etive can be operated in MIMO (2×2 or 4×4) configurations with bandwidths of up to 100 MHz.

NW Nessie Portable Server (vRAN + 5GC)
Neutral Wireless’ Nessie is our latest server platform. We have repackaged our trusted high performance 1U system into a custom chassis, and fitted this in a connectorised hardcase. This server is designed to run our vRAN gNB stack, our nibOS configuration and KPI tool, and our (optional) 5G Core. The rugged case is splashproof (light rain proof), and the full assembly is impressively lightweight!
For dark fibre fronthaul between the server and the radio, we typically supply tactical fibre reels with locking connectors; however we can also support opticalCON or SMPTE311M interfaces for customers that wish to utilise existing cable stock.

NW nibOS Configuration and KPI Dashboards
Neutral Wireless’ nibOS network administration software provides our customers with an accessible and intuitive interface for configuring and monitoring network performance. Bundled with a comprehensive user manual and quick-start guide, nibOS gives you the power and the confidence to fine-tune your network to suit your particular use case, and to meet the parameters of your spectrum licence.
nibOS features an integrated KPI dashboard with at-a-glance real-time health and performance monitoring and historical per-UE network performance data capture. Invaluable during live deployments, our operational dashboard allows our customers to monitor the performance of their 5G devices (such as video encoders or handsets) through metrics such as data throughput, channel quality, network status, path loss, and more. This dashboard has been used in the operations centres of large events, including the King’s Coronation and the Paris2024 Opening Ceremony.

Pop-up 5G is your entry level solution to the private 5G world. This package includes all of the radio equipment and accessories required to deploy a 5G cell. This package includes:

One of the key services we offer with this package is network design coverage simulations. If you present us with a target coverage area, capacity requirements, and information about power and backhaul facilities nearby, we can create efficient and cost optimised designs that will provide the service level your use case requires. Following network design, we can perform site surveys and ambient spectrum measurements to confirm RF channel conditions, and ultimately make recommendations about the most suitable NW hardware for your deployment.
The deployment can be carried out by your existing trusted installers, with NW able to provide on-the-ground support and training. In certain circumstances, NW is also able to offer ‘5G event as a service’, where we will deploy and manage the equipment for the duration required.
What is a Private 5G Network?
Private 5G networks — or non-public-networks (NPN), as they are sometimes known — are dedicated mobile/wireless networks that can provide coverage in a specific area for a number of devices. All user equipment (UE) connected to a private network is securely authenticated with network-specific SIM cards, providing a strong layer of inherent security at the outset. At Neutral Wireless, our portable, pop-up private networks can provide connectivity for high resolution cameras, microphones, compute platforms, Industry 4.0 style sensors, handsets, and more.
Interest in private networks has rocketed in the past few years, with the advent of shared-spectrum type agreements (such as Ofcom’s shared-access n77-band licences in the UK, or CBRS in the USA) broadening the scope for private network deployments across the world, and across a variety of industries.
Neutral Wireless has a proven track record of designing, deploying, and consulting on private networks for a wide range of use cases.
